Chris and Julia were married on a beautiful fall day at Woodfield’s Seven Bridges Golf Club. Rather than using traditional fall colors, the couple selected a neutral palette and incorporated succulents into their decor, while bridesmaids carried lanterns. Images by Hazelton Photography.
Our Story
We met through mutual friends in our college town. We kept running into each other at places around Campus until we finally started dating. We dated for about 5 years before Chris proposed.
Every year, our friend hosts a pumpkin carving party around Halloween. When I arrived at the event, I saw Chris standing in the backyard holding roses. Family and friends who were hiding behind the garage lit up pumpkins reading “Marry Me”. Chris got down on one knee and proposed. After I said “yes,” there was a champagne toast and celebration.
The Vision
The wedding was inspired by succulents and soft tones. We both love neutrals, which inspired the tones of grayish blue, white, and gold. The succulents were the aspect that tied everything together with the invitations, favors, bouquet, and lanterns. The wedding was held in the evening which inspired aspects of soft light and an intimate feel.
