Melissa and Frank’s reception at The Estate by Gene & Georgetti was glowing with romance and filled with elegant all-white decor and candlelight. The Proposal
With speculations of the proposal happening on September 23rd, I kept telling myself otherwise. As the 23rd arrived, I stayed busy shopping with my good friend Nicole, and Frank was at home doing his normal Saturday routine. As the day progressed into the evening, I could tell Frank was up to something. He’s normally a looney tune before a night out with friends or family, but this time he was a little more quiet than usual. We had “plans” to go out to eat with my cousin, his girlfriend (now wife!), and my sister and brother-in-law. As we started walking over to my cousin’s apartment for a pre-dinner drink, I had a feeling it was going to happen, but I wasn’t sure where or when. They let us into their top floor apartment, which had amazing lake views, and some Frankie Valli began playing over his speakers. Balloons were scattered, candles were lit, the sun was setting, and Frank escorted me to the balcony. He got down on one knee, and I immediately started to giggle, but the proposal was actually really cute.
The Vision
I was going for the old Hollywood, timeless look. I wanted to look back at my pictures years from now and still think certain things would be in style. My vision was clean lines and classic colors, with a touch of gold.
I designed my own paper items, including invites, programs, table numbers, and other paper details, this saved us a TON of money! We also felt it was important to give back to an association that is near and dear to both of our hearts, the Alzheimers Association. Instead of wedding favors, Frank and I donated to this Association, which many guests appreciated.
