How We Met
David and I grew up in the same town, a suburb an hour outside of Chicago. Although we lived two blocks away from each other, we ended up going to different schools and were just connected through mutual friends! One day, he called me saying he was driving home for the summer from Ohio State in hopes that we get dinner! We hit it off right away and starting dating shortly after!
Our Proposal Story
A week prior to the proposal, David and I had made plans to get dinner with his agent, Justin, who was in town for a few days. We scheduled for 5 pm Wednesday, June 19 at McCormick and Schmick’s. We had the best day lounging around our new condo, until it was time to start getting ready. Luckily, while I was doing my hair and makeup, he started getting dressed.
I didn’t have an outfit in mind, but seeing how nice he looked, prompted me to doll up a bit (thank goodness!). We ubered over to the restaurant, and as we were pulling up, he received a text from Justin, who was really my little sister in disguise, saying that there was a longer wait than expected and that we should just meet somewhere nearby instead. We walked over to London House, making our way up 23 floors to the rooftop in which we had all to ourselves. I was admiring the gorgeous view before noticing all of the rose petals on the floor that trailed to a bottle of champagne under the cupola. Then it hit me. Immediately, I looked up at David as he stood there with the biggest smile and tear filled eyes. I could not believe what was about to happen! He then started his sweet speech, ninety percent of which I didn’t hear, due to pure shock, then proceeded to get down on one knee and ask if I would marry him. It was the easiest decision I have ever made saying yes! Wednesday, June 19, 2019 is our new favorite day.
