The Wedding Vision

Alex and I were both transplants from the northeast to Chicago, but fell in love with the city. We wanted to make sure that the city was incorporated as much as possible into our big day and the room/view from the LondonHouse ballroom down the Chicago River can’t be beat. Saturday night in the city too, we wanted it to be a fancy affair!

The Proposal

Alex proposed in December 2016 at Zoo Lights at the Lincoln Park Zoo. There may or may not have been a few false starts as he wanted to find the perfect spot, but knew when he saw a big red heart by the seal tank that it was the perfect location.

Go Team Rockstars

Katherine at Clover Events was fantastic. We didn’t have to worry about a thing on our wedding day because she took care of everything. She was an absolute dream to work with. I’ve also recommended our photographers Ed & Aileen to everyone I can, whether they are in Chicago or anywhere else in the country. It’s been 9 months since our wedding and I still look at our pictures every day because they were just unbelievable.

The best money you will spend is on a month-of or wedding planner. Otherwise, have fun and let things go. It poured all day and the Best Man forgot to bring the rings to the ceremony. All we could do was laugh and have fun with it. Don’t let anything bring you down on your special day!

Favorite Memories

It’s hard to pick one. The ceremony went off without a hitch, everyone danced all night long to the Bluewater Kings Band, and the food was phenomenal. I loved taking pictures around the city, but one of my personal favorites was our first look. It was up in the rotunda at the LondonHouse. We had just finished getting ready all morning: My hair was perfect, makeup, dress, etc. and it was a torrential downpour. The rain honestly made for some amazing shots and let us both let loose and have a little fun!
