If you’re wanting your engagement session on the beach, but want to avoid downtown Chicago, look no further than this Glencoe Beach engagement session, photographed by Nicole Morisco Photography. Alex and Sammy had an overcast day to capture their engagement and the photos are stunning!
The Proposal
“Last year we started planning a weekend trip to Paris that we would take that fall, and Sammy told me later that has soon as we decided on Paris as our destination, he started his proposal plans. So last October during our lunch at Café de l’Homme, a restaurant that is situated near the pavilion that faces the Eiffel Tower, Sammy started to tell me how amazing he thought it was that two kids who met so young, and have done so much growing together, now found themselves in Paris. It was a sweet way to recognize how far we’ve come as a couple. And then he got up, came around to my side of the table, and got down on one knee. It was very special and everyone dining stopped what they were doing to clap and wish us congratulations, all happening with the most perfect view of the Eiffel Tower. I’m a self-proclaimed Francophile so this was truly my dream come true.
But what makes the entire proposal even more special was learning later just how much thought Sammy put into the entire thing. Not only did he coordinate help through a family member living in Paris and help from the restaurant staff, he researched backup locations, watched Paris proposal videos on YouTube—he even researched the history of the Eiffel Tower, which explains why he was randomly reciting facts to me all morning. And months prior, he took my parents out to breakfast to talk to them about his plan and had conversations with my two siblings, which meant more to me than anything. We spent the rest of the afternoon wandering along the Seine, calling our family members and friends, and celebrating our engagement just us two in the most magical place on Earth”-Alex and Sammy
The Ring
“Sammy custom designed it (with a teeny directional nudge from me) which makes it that much more special. It has an oval center stone with a half moon stone on either side. Some people call it the “past, present, future” style. It is the most beautiful piece of jewelry I’ve ever seen and even though we’ve been engaged for over a year now, I catch myself staring at it multiple times per day.”-Alex and Sammy
