Erin and Ross held a lovely end of summer wedding at the beautiful LaGrange Country Club. Delicate florals from Zuzu’s Petals Events and a beautiful cap sleeve gown from The Crystal Bride were accented by lovely pale pink bridesmaids dresses from Bella Bridesmaids. Our Love Story
We met on Tinder! I was living in the city at the time and Ross was in the south suburbs. I set my “Tinder radius” at only 8 miles (I was looking for love, but not THAT hard that I wanted to travel for it), so I never would have met Ross unless we both happened to be on the app at the same time in close proximity. As it so happens, I was visiting my Grandfather, and he happened to live right next door to Ross’ place of employment. We like to say that Grandpa brought us together. We both swiped right, and after talking on the app for a few weeks we had their first date.
Shortly after moving into our new house, Ross proposed on a Wednesday night in our kitchen that we recently had renovated. He had a note tied around a bottle of wine from Italy (where we would eventually travel to for our honeymoon). We had been saving the wine for a special occasion. Ross told me he got the wine out and I said “But it’s Wednesday. It’s not a special occasion.” Before I could get all the words out I had turned around to see him on one knee with the most beautiful pear shaped diamond ring.
Our Favorite Moments
My favorite moment of the day was after the ceremony but before the reception when Ross and I got to sneak away in our wedding coordinator’s office and have a few quiet moments to ourselves to soak in what just happened. We ate some appetizers and had a drink and celebrated alone briefly before joining all our friends and family in the reception hall. My second favorite moment was having multiple dance offs with all of our family members. Our families really get down on the dance floor!
Our Wedding Vision
I always knew I wanted a crisp, clean look for my big day. I loved the idea of blush dresses on the gals mixed with navy suits for the guys for our end of summer wedding. Our ceremony was a traditional Catholic ceremony at the Church I grew up going to, and the reception was at the LaGrange Country Club, in my hometown. The greenery provided by Zuzu’s Petals Events, especially the eucalyptus, gave the perfect pops of green for the evening.
