Jewel-Toned Warehouse Wedding at Rockwell on the River

We’re big fans of mis-matched bridesmaid dresses and this jewel toned warehouse wedding at Rockwell on the River served! Melia and John wanted their guests to have the time of their lives and from the looks of it, mission accomplished! Photographed by Pen & Carlson Photography.

The Love Story

“We met when we were in college studying abroad in London – we were both on the same program and loved to explore the city and took any chance we got to travel around Europe together. When it came time to leave after the semester was over and go our separate ways, we couldn’t quite do it and ended up visiting each other two weeks later back in the States. We spent the rest of college and a few years after long-distance until we decided it was time to be together in Chicago.”-Melia and John

The Wedding Vision

“The most important thing to us was that our guests had the time of their lives – we wanted it to be the most elegant, fun, floral (HMR Designs), and best dance party ever. Our beautiful vendors made that possible. We incorporated some textured linens and grapes, pomegranates, and artichokes for earthy elements but also kept it bright & jewel-toned with dahlias and ranunculus throughout. We knew we wanted to spend the majority of the night on the dance floor so we chose a venue perfectly suited to keep our guests on their feet!”-Melia and John

Stand Out Vendors

“Our day wouldn’t have been possible without the guidance, support, and talents of Elizabeth and her company, Anticipation Events. She not only made the planning process easy and fun, the details feel seamless and easy but she is also the kindest person to have in your corner on the day of your wedding. Elizabeth made sure we had EVERYTHING that we needed – water, wine, tissues, our rings, time alone to catch our breath, and ensured we never left the dance floor the whole night to worry about anything. I would recommend her 10x over and again and again to anyone getting married. Simply put, the best in the business.”-Melia and John
