Indian Fusion Wedding at The Walden Chicago

This colorful Indian Fusion wedding at The Walden Chicago is a beautiful blend of the bride and groom’s cultures! We can’t stop staring at the gorgeous colors that filled the room, planned out beautifully by Plum & Ivy. The true essence of the day was captured by Rachel Stelter Photography

The Wedding Vision

“Our wedding was Indian fusion, so we wanted to combine a soft, romantic, “in the clouds” vibe with the colorful vibrancy and high energy of an Indian wedding. We wanted the day to be full of fun and laughter! The celebrations started with the Baraat in which Ashwin rode in on a convertible and all the guests danced around him to arrive at the venue. Our Hindu ceremony was followed by a cocktail hour and then we kicked off the reception with dance performances by our wedding party and family.” Kristen and Ashwin

Favorite Memories

“Our ceremony was my favorite part of the day. We had a Hindu ceremony and it was so fun and joyful. I loved that our friends and family got to actively participate in different steps of the ceremony which made it so meaningful! I had several outfit and accessory changes throughout the day, but one of the necklaces I wore was the same opal necklace my mom and sister wore on their wedding days as well!”

Stand Out Vendor Team

“Everyone at Walden did an exceptional job making the day run smoothly and giving our guests a great experience. The food and cocktails were phenomenal! Nick made us a custom Indian fusion menu and nailed it. We also got to customize every detail of the bar and having all the drinks on tap was such a huge hit with our guests.

We got rave reviews for our DJ (DJ Aumir) who kept the energy high and the dance floor packed the entire night. He put in a ton of effort from the first time we met with him to really capture our music taste and make sure it was the right mix of Indian and American music.

My Mehndi artist Unnati did an amazing job – she not only did my bridal mehndi and mehndi party, but also helped all my bridesmaids drape their sarees and helped me get ready in my lehenga and jewelry (Vibgyorby by Monica) the day of the wedding.

Finally, our photo (Rachel Stelter Photography)and video team (Oakhouse Wedding Films) did an amazing job! We got our full wedding highlights video back from Oakhouse in only 2 weeks and it was perfect!”
