Michelle and Tripp, along with their dog Maeby, celebrated their wedding underneath the tent at the Chicago Illuminating Company. We really wanted our wedding to reflect “simple elegance”. We chose neutral colors such as ivory and blush but wanted to accent everything with fresh greenery to match the general aesthetic of the Chicago Illuminating Company.

Wedding Planning Advice
We were a very non-traditional couple so our biggest advice is putting your own personality and interests into the wedding. We loved incorporating our “favorite things” such as our dog, and our food interests. We are both from New York so we went back to our roots and had an oyster bar for cocktail hour and ordered in NY style pizza for late night snacks. Finally our favors were “Fat Which Brownies” which were our favorite desserts from home. Those details are the things your guests will remember! So make sure you’re being true to yourself. The most important thing to honor throughout the day is YOU. For us, that meant ditching a lot of the traditional wedding pieces. In the end it felt like us!
