Devin and Alex held an intimate wedding at Libertyville’s Mickey Finns Brewery – the oldest brewpub in Illinois! Their first look was full of emotion, and the lakeside portraits by Rachael Schirano Photography are pure magic.
Favorite Memories
Our first look is definitely near the top of favorite memories from our wedding day. The pure genuine emotion we both had in that moment realizing, after our long engagement, the time to marry the love of our lives had finally arrived. The blue handkerchief you see me holding is handmade by my mother’s Aunt Sophie. My mother had passed away just a couple months prior to the wedding so having that family touch with me all day eased my mind.
Our Love Story
Alex and I met through mutual friends while both visiting University of Illinois. I ended up catching a ride back to Chicago with him and his friends, only to find out we lived down the street from each other.
Alex proposed at Sterling Vineyards in Calistoga, CA on the day after Christmas. It was a sunny, but crisp winter day full of laughter and lots of happy tears.
