Brooke and Mike joined Photography by Lauryn in Lincoln Park for their Chicago engagement session. After taking photos in the park under glorious light, they visited North Avenue Beach at sunset.
Our Love Story
We met 5 years ago at University of St. Francis at a basketball game on campus. I was living on campus studying nursing. Mike was friends with my roommate’s boyfriend of the time and we both begged them to introduce us to the other and the rest is history!
While visiting Mike’s family on Maui, Hawaii, we were having family portraits taken on the beach on the morning of 12/12/17. Mike had planned with his friends and sister to hold up signs with the words “Will you marry me?” written on them. We were turned facing the water when the photographer had us turn around to see them holding the signs, and Mike got down on one knee there in the sand. All of Mike’s closest friends and family were there along with my parents.

The Engagement Ring
My ring is made by Verragio and is part of the Couture collection. It is a round cut diamond, set on a silver band lined with round diamonds, and has a floral-like design around the round diamond. There’s a rose gold band on the inside band. It has so much detail and a vintage vibe.
