This romantic Loft Lucia wedding is one of our favorites! Photographed by Katie Kett Photography, we cannot get over the gorgeous florals from Fleur Inc. and the infectious smiles from the new Mr. and Mrs! The pops of color are summer perfection in this gorgeous venue!
Our Love Story
We met at Northwestern University at a social justice conference six weeks before graduating from undergraduate. A facebook friend invitation and a year of friendship later, we started dating.
He proposed when we were in Kyoto, Japan on the first day of a three month travel adventure throughout Asia. We spent the day looking at cherry blossoms, eating matcha soft serve, and exploring the city. Right before sunset, we went to one of the most beautiful temples in Kyoto in the Gion neighborhood. On a bench, looking at the temple lit up, we had our special moment of officially making this commitment to each other. Kons was grateful that he didn’t have to be responsible for the safekeeping of the ring for the rest of the trip and we spent the next three months traveling and celebrating!
Favorite Memories
When we were standing and looking out at our family and friends, people who had traveled from all over the world and from all different parts of our lives, right before we said our vows. That was a powerful moment. It would not have been the same to celebrate without everyone there and the wedding was about us and our relationship but also celebrating and giving thanks for all of the people in our lives.
Our Wedding Vision
We wanted to create an event that would feel like it was personal to us — romantic, beautiful and meaningful while still being down-to-earth and fun! We wanted to embrace the colors and vibe of the Italian countryside but set in an urban context. We wanted to keep the wedding small enough that we had the chance to connect with everyone but also big enough that it still felt like a party.
