Some venues are truly timeless, and that’s the case with the stunning Chicago History Museum. Its Georgian-style architecture and soft color palette also creates the perfect blank slate for any color palette. When Olive Fine Weddings and Events and Alexandra Lee Photography set out to design this romantic wedding inspiration shoot, they chose elements of ivory, gold, and hunter green, an unexpected wedding color that can easily be transitioned from season to season!
The Inspiration
Hunter green is a beautiful color that isn’t often chosen for weddings. It’s a classic four-season color that is all at once romantic and modern.
The Chicago History Museum has beautiful crown molding and a gorgeous interior, and we felt that the hunter green would stand out and compliment the venue.
The Details
Willrett Flower Co. created an elegant unique mixture of greenery, ivory florals, and gold accents for the ceremony backdrop (turned sweetheart table) and tabletop which featured crisp white linens and china from Dish and Decor Vintage Rental.
The invitation suite from Paper Love Club was created with textured handmade paper. Light calligraphy, a sketch of the venue, and a custom crest combined to make an unforgettable elegant suite.
The Cake
ECBG Cake Studio created a neutral and monochrome cake with a fan-like deco accent piece providing a modern flair. The ivory cake was set atop a cake table with deep hunter green linen from Windy City Linen and hefty gold candlesticks as accents.
