More about Oh, the Life!
Nikki came to Chicago in 2013, after obtaining her MFA in Photography in Boston. Her studies focused on 19th Century and experimental photographic processes, making work based on stories surrounding her fear of water and a discovery of a strong lineage of mariners who were lost at sea. After finding that her ancestor’s account of being attacked by a whale was the inspiration for Moby Dick, and uncovering other fascinating stories, including encounters with pirates, nautical poets and Mayflower passengers, she fell in love with not only the craft of photography, but the stories that can be told from behind the lens.
After her move to Chicago, Nikki began to explore the world of wedding and lifestyle photography. What she loves most is the ability to see someone else’s story unfold before her eyes. She loves a soft, introspective moment, just as much as she loves an adventure filled with laughter and color.
She is tickled and honored to be the one to help share those life stories. She especially loves shooting large format film – and being green! Oh, the Life! is based in Chicago, but travels well.
