Meet Joanne Leiman of FlowersFlowers

Joanne Leiman has been the owner of FlowersFlowers for over 20 years, and she’s in love with her job! This is her second career, after being in the corporate world, and she’s never going back! FlowersFlowers is a brick and mortar shop that also loves designing flowers for weddings and events. Located in Evanston, FlowersFlowers services all of the north shore suburbs as well as Chicago.

Tell us about you and your story.

What is your background and how did you find your way to the wedding industry?

I did not have a direct path to the floral and wedding industry. After 20 years in the corporate world, I wanted to branch out, have my own business, and find my 'niche'. I found it in the floral world and have been happily designing since.

Share a little bit about FlowersFlowers's history.

When did FlowersFlowers launch? What are you known for?

FlowersFlowers started over 35 years ago and I am the 3rd owner. I've been the owner for the last 20 years, and plan to own it at least 20 more! FlowersFlowers is a brick and mortar small business, woman owned, in downtown Evanston. The business has a retail side (daily orders for birthdays, anniversaries, etc.) along with designing for weddings and events. Our niche is having unique flowers and the highest quality flowers available.

What sets you and FlowersFlowers apart?

What's your secret sauce? What makes you different from everyone else?

In addition to providing the absolute best customer service, our flowers are simply outstanding in their quality, and you'll find flowers at FlowersFlowers that you've never seen elsewhere.

Tell us about your ideal couple.

Tell us about the type of couple that really clicks with you and your company.

Our ideal couple is down to earth, and can have tastes that range from classic to quirky.

What is the best advice you have for couples currently planning their weddings?

You've seen so many couples go through the planning process. Share your best pearl of wisdom for those just starting out with their planning.

Our advice is to find the best vendors and then trust them! And, enjoy the planning process!

What's the ONE thing that couples shouldn't forget to ask potential wedding vendors?

Spill! What's the single most important question that couples should ask before booking a vendor for their wedding?

The most important thing that couples should ask is about their experience. You want a vendor that is experienced and knowledgeable.

Thanks for stopping by Lakeshore in Love, Joanne!
