Meet Barbara Vanni of BWEDDINGS

Barbara is the owner of Bweddings, a boutique wedding planning firm in Chicago.

Tell us about you and your story.

What is your background and how did you find your way to the wedding industry?

I was born and raised in Italy from a very creative family, my dad had his interior design firm and my mom worked with flowers as her hobby. I always enjoyed working in the event industry, so much that I started a small personal chef company for private events and always ended up planning the whole party! Living in Italy wasn't enough for me, I wanted to experience more. That is why 10 years ago I moved to Miami, shortly after I met my husband on a trip to Toronto and I moved there a few years later. Crazy me! After two kids we wanted to be closer to family and moved to Chicago in early 2019 during the Polar vortex!

Share a little bit about BWEDDINGS's history.

When did BWEDDINGS launch? What are you known for?

I started out my journey in the wedding industry when I lived in Miami and fell in love with it! When moved to Toronto I founded Bweddings, finally after a few years of amazing experiences I found my last destination.. Chicago. This is home!

What sets you and BWEDDINGS apart?

What's your secret sauce? What makes you different from everyone else?

I have an incredible variety of experience with many different cultures and this make my personal style and Bweddings unique. I am based in Chicago but still work with couples in Italy, destination to Miami and Canada. I only take one wedding per weekend to make sure all my attention is on just one couple.

Tell us about the type of couple that really clicks with you and your company.

My ideal couple is someone who trusts me, I am very easy to work with and always happy to help and go the extra mile. I promise to work with you every step of the way and to be your advocate and your support, you deserve the experience of being a bride and a groom!

What is the best advice you have for couples currently planning their weddings?

You've seen so many couples go through the planning process. Share your best pearl of wisdom for those just starting out with their planning.

What's the ONE thing that couples shouldn't forget to ask potential wedding vendors?

Spill! What's the single most important question that couples should ask before booking a vendor for their wedding?

The couple should know exactly how many hours the vendors will stay on their wedding day and what the vendor is in charge of, his duties and responsabilities, the couple should also be aware of the vendor's backup in case of illness or an emergency.
