Cindy, an avid equestrian and veterinarian, dreamed of a celebration that celebrated the story of she and Mark as a couple as well as their love for horses. Carla of Elena’s Garden Events brought their vision to life, and every whimsical detail is beautifully photographed by Tuan B & Co.
The Wedding Vision
On a horse-farm outside Chicago, guests were greeted with cocktails under the blue skies and delicious food, and were surrounded by lush flowers, little mementos that spoke to Cindy and Mark’s story as a couple, the friends and family that supported them, and their love for horses. Each dinner table was named after a horse that Cindy, her mom, or Mark rode in the past, and the reception was sprinkled with horseshoes and childhood photos from their riding days. Guests also were able to mingle and pose with beautiful horses that were tucked in for the night, get temporary tattoos (also a favorite of the bride’s) and party in the training arena that doubled as a mini casino and dance floor while rocking out to one of the couple’s favorite local bands. Needless to say, the bride and groom, along with many of the guests, danced the night away in their cowgirl and cowboy boots.
How We Met
We met at a party held by a mutual friend. We were both undergrads at Columbia College at the time. Mark said “You’re Gorgeous” to me at our first meeting. We have been together for 18 years – it was a long engagement!

Don’t forget to eat! I’m half Japanese and it was important to have Japanese food. I didn’t even get a chance to eat any of the yummy sushi!
