The stately Armour House in Lake Forest inspired a romantic and elegant wedding editorial from Alexandra Lee Photography and Events by JVB.
The Inspiration
This shoot started from a love of The Armour House, located in Lake Forest. In the Chicagoland area, it is hard to find an estate or mansion-style venue, and the Armour House has it all. From the intricate, beautiful architecture inside, to the gorgeous gardens, the Armour House is sure to impress your wedding guests. I based the whole shoot around the venue itself. The words I wanted this shoot to portray were elegance, joyful, soft, and romantic, and the main color palette is mauve, blush, and greenery.
The Flowers
Fleur Couture designed romantic and loose florals to create a romantic feel. She combined peonies, roses, astilbe, and greenery to create a delicate bouquet. The garden-style centerpiece also featured fluffy white peonies accompanied by allium, roses, and astilbe in shades of dusty mauve.

The Details
Victoria of The Quintessential Cake created a gorgeous 3 layer cake with unique shapes on each layer. Ashley of Paper Love Club handpainted the crest and flowers on to the cake itself. Victoria is the queen of sugar flowers which she placed on the cake in creative places.
Paper Love Club calligraphed bud vases for place cards that doubled as small centerpiece favors. Rather than choosing the usual gold, we chose muted silver for the tabletop accents.
The Attire
The Calla Blanche dress from Simply Luxe Bridal had many layers and the most beautiful lace details and plunge neckline. The champagne color paired beautifully with the blush and mauve color palette.
Grant of The Wedding GPS—a service which assists grooms with wedding day styling—selected a deep navy blue tux for the groom.
